I’ve spent more than 10 years working in the kitchen appliance industry, helping people navigate one of the most complicated parts of designing a new kitchen: choosing the appliances.
Over the years, I’ve worked with homeowners, builders and kitchen projects of all kinds, from helping someone choose their first new oven to working through detailed appliance selections for large renovations and new builds.
And one thing I've learned is that there is rarely a single “best” appliance.
There is only the appliance that is right for you.
Why I created Bailey Lentini Appliance Consulting
We built our house in 2023. By this stage, I had already been working in the kitchen appliance industry for nearly a decade, and yet I found myself completely overwhelmed.
When you are building or designing a kitchen, you can quickly become overrun with decision fatigue. I know I was. There are a million decisions to make and so many different appliances, brands and features that all claim to do something special and be the very best.
It took me months to decide on my own appliances, and I had years of experience behind me. That made me realise just how overwhelming the process can be for the average consumer.
Throughout my years working as a kitchen appliance specialist, I always tried to approach my recommendations from a place of facts and knowledge. But when you then go into another store and are told something completely different, it can quickly become difficult to know what advice to trust.
I have watched clients come into appliance stores weekend after weekend, agonising over these decisions. They often aren't lacking information. If anything, they have too much of it, coming from too many different sources.
And while there are many knowledgeable and genuinely helpful people in appliance retail, the reality is that salespeople are there to sell appliances. They have products to sell, targets to meet and, in some cases, commission to earn. For someone making a significant investment in their kitchen, I understand why that can make it difficult to feel completely confident that the advice they are receiving is truly impartial.
That is why I created Bailey Lentini Appliance Consulting. I wanted to create something where I could be independent and impartial, and where I could ensure that each client was receiving advice based on their needs and their lifestyle.
